If you are a graphics designer (Or, like me, just someone who knows a bit of programs), I've got a challenge for you.
You know we now have a new skin. It works great it 1024x768, but gets overlapped in other resolutions. I'm not asking you to go fix that, since I will do that myself. What I do ask is this:
Can you make the best skin for Severance?
You are free to use all colors, but it would be great if you kept it in the typical green theme, but your way.
The images you have to make are:
1. The background. (1280x1024 resolution image should deal with the problem for higher resolutions, but make sure the older, standard 1024x768 gets a nice piece of it with it.
2. The head and base images (The images that wrap around the posts and categories on the forum). This will be very tricky to do for all resolutions. If you can't find a solution, you can always make two versions, which fit with each of the standards.
3. The custom images (the reply, quote, the smilies, the tag images, etc.). This is VERY tricky.
4. The banner. I will let you totally free in what you use. Fonts, colors, styles, everything. The banner works best in 690x160, but you are free to go your own way.
5. colors. Of course, you will have to put up your own color scheme with it. If you need the list of the colors you need, you can make a testforum to test your skin. This is very recommended in each and every point of the skinbuilding.
----------------------------------
Proboard has a small flaw, which gives a lot of trouble if I want to give space to multiple skins; The extra images are code - related, meaning they are fixed while the CSS isn't.
This means only one skin can rule them all...
Good luck if you want to give it a try!
